Quotes

When I think of past famous people, I think of quotes… things they’ve said that people have put into books or just continue to share. For the most part, that’s all that is left of these famous people. Motivational, inspirational, wise, etc. things that they’ve said that endure the test of time long after they’re gone.

Now, it may be selfish of me to say it but… I want that. I am not rich, nor famous, nor powerful. I have no lasting impression to leave and no way to make a mark on the world. I would love to be remembered for having made a difference in the world, especially in the world of Autism. But the sad reality is that once I’m gone, family and friends will miss me but that’ll be that.

So it got me to thinking, what do I have to contribute if not money or knowledge? Well, I can write a decent quote, it turns out. At least, that’s what I’m told. And since it’s not usually the charitable work or amazing things that people have done that get them remembered by the vast majority of the people, it’s their quotes, then maybe I can do that too.

Maybe one day, way off in the future, someone will happen upon something I said once and they’ll share it. And even though I will no longer be around, I will not have been forgotten. My words may just touch someone and help them feel a little better, a little wiser or maybe just put a smile on their face.

Yes, it is selfish of me to want that. But it’s all I have to give when I think to the future. And so, I write, and I record the things I say. Maybe one day, it’ll be worth it. I hope you like them.

Below I’ve put together a list of them… some are by others, I’ve put their name in if it is. The rest truly are from me.
