Your son sounds a lot like my son Jason. He could count to twenty before he turned two. He's also the size of most five year olds, and he's three and a half. A lot of people expect more out of him because he looks older, even other kids.

I am truely blessed by reading Cameron's story and other people's responses. ASD children are very special because they are blessings from God like their siblings and very special to Jesus as we all know that he loves them dearly like other children.

The ASD children possess divine attributes such as forgetting wrongs, forgiveness, love, happiness, contentment, joy, trust, etc.

Continue to love Cameron unconditionally because he is worthy of it and he is a blessing to you. He will grow up to be a fine young man, who will continue to make you proud.

Hi there, your son sounds just like mine son. My son Sam is now 17 in first of University doing and IT degree. Sam skipped Pre-school and most of yr 1. At the age of 3 he read to his Kindergarten class the very hungry caterpillar. It took may hours of convincing his teachers that he was bright. At 4 he was classified as gifted, much to the schools disbelief. When he was 11 he was formally diagnosed with Aspergers. Which was a great relief, and at last his new school had an understanding with what to do. They were very supportive and helped us until he finished school last November at the age of 16. Sam holds down 3 part time jobs all in IT and full time study. I love him to bits and I am very proud of all his achievements, his biggest being going on a Sports Tour to the UK as the IT guru and tour photographer.

At 2 he looked 4 & at 3 he looked 5, was bigger & taller than his 5 year old cousin & is bigger than all the kids in his class, who are 3 to 5 year olds, except for only one 5 year old boy.

Hi, my son Richie sounds exactly like your son Cameron! My son turned 4 one month ago. He hasn't been formally diagnosed yet, (that comes in July), but was found to be on the spectrum in September. We knew he was different since he was about 1.5, although we didn't know what it was or what to think: we thought he'd outgrow his quirks, whereas they just got worse, til a family member mentioned autism. Richie is also very smart, into lining up & stacking, crazy emotional roller coaster, loves to count (to 40 & w/a very little bit of help keeps going & going), amaaaaazing memory, before specialized preschool in December would mostly only speak Echolalia, repeats almost whole movies (a vast majority of scenes), used to sing whole country songs, no imaginative play (before prek)...now that he's been receiving therapy in prek at a special school for autistic kids & is in an aba classroom hes improved so much! But still has a long way to go, mostly socially.

Cameron sounds a lot like our son JD. As a matter of fact the first time someone suggest we get him tested for autism I told them that he just looked older than he should because of his height so they were expecting him to act older. He is almost 3 and taller than most 5 year olds.
